- Even more important: mark your calendars for November 3, All Brackets’ Day! It’s the natural evolution of All Hallow’s Eve, All Saints’ Day, and All Souls’ Day. Yep, All Brackets’ Day is the day the Lent Madness 2015 bracket will be revealed to the world. Tune in right here to see the bracket on the morning of November 3.
- Two of our world renowned Celebrity Bloggers have retired. Next time you’re in the Lent Dome, look up toward the rafters to see the jerseys of Penny Nash and Heidi Shott. Lent Madness won’t be the same without them.
- After a global search, the SEC is pleased to announce to new recruits to the Celebrity Blogger team. Please welcome Nancy Frausto and Neva Rae Fox. Nancy serves as priest at two Los Angeles-area congregations, and she’s an ECF Fellow. Neva is Public Affairs Officer for The Episcopal Church, and she’s active in her New Jersey parish. She is passionate about opera. And saints.

Isn’t one of the SEC’s criteria that the person must be on the calendar of at least one denomination? Is Mr. Rogers on one? (Maybe you should direct your ire at the Presbyterians!)
Considering the arbitrary nature of the SEC’s rules I can’t imagine why those of us who consider Fred Rogers to be a holy man should really care whether or not any denomination has officially put him on any registry. If mere mortals can declare their birthdays a holiday…nuff said.
Wait a minute! Is All Brackets’ Day scheduled in perpetuity for November 3rd or for the first Monday in November? Is it just a snippet of trivia that it should fall on the first Monday after All Saints’ Day this year? Will it fall on Tuesday in 2015? Please let the peasants know so that we will celebrate on the proper day from here on out. My calendar cannot compensate and correct for vague input. If All Brackets’ Day is a REAL holiday it should have real rules, just like Easter.
And Happy Conjoined Birthday to the SEC. Does that mean you get presents on both your real birthdays and the Feast of the Nativity of the SEC?

Am I hoping for too much as I wish to help inaugurate the onset of LENT MADNESS minus the brouhaha about Fred Rogers? May I add my support for Milady Jane Papa-etcetera who does indeed deserve a day off if her heart so desires one? Let the Madness begin!!!!! from the newly retired vocational deacon who also celebrated the 25th anniversary of her ordination to the diaconate.
